What you’ll need
-
Measuring tape
-
Notes app / paper
-
Step stool (if needed)
-
(Optional) 1–2 photos of your canopy frame (front + side)
Before you measure
-
Measure in cm or inches — just stay consistent.
-
Measure your canopy bed frame, not the mattress.
-
Decide how you want the curtains to end: above floor / touching floor / slight puddle.
Step 1 — Measure the width (for proper fullness)
Measure the frame width on the side where the curtains will hang.
Recommended fullness
-
Standard look:1.2–1.5× the canopy width
-
Fuller look:2.0× the canopy width (richer gathers)
If ordering 2 panels:
Divide the total width by 2 to get the width of each panel.
Example
Canopy width 200 cm → 1.35× = 270 cm total → 2 panels = 135 cm each
✅ INSERT SCHEMA #1 — Canopy Curtains: measure width & height

Step 2 — Measure the height (curtain drop)
Decide where you want the curtain fabric to end:
-
Above floor: clean + practical
-
Touching floor: soft + elegant
-
Puddling: add 0–24 cm / 0–10" for a relaxed drape
Important: the finished look depends on the hanging style (ties vs tab tops).
Please read Step 3 carefully — the hanging element height is handled differently.
Step 3 — Choose your hanging style (very important for length)
We offer two canopy curtain hanging styles:

Common mistakes (Canopy Curtains)
-
Measuring the mattress instead of the canopy frame
-
Ordering too narrow (forgetting 1.2–1.5× fullness, or choosing 2× when you want richer gathers)
-
Forgetting to divide width by 2 when ordering two panels
-
Not accounting for the hanging style: ties/tab tops are not included in the panel length
-
Choosing tab tops without checking canopy frame thickness (tab tops fit up to ~5×5 cm)
-
Mixing cm and inches in the same order notes
