How to Care of Linen?
Preparation and Washing
Preparation and Washing
To preserve the quality of your linen, wash it separately without mixing colors. Turn bed linens inside out and fasten buttons before washing. Linen can be hand-washed or machine-washed on a delicate cycle. Avoid overloading the drum to allow garments to move freely. Do not wring or twist the fabric to maintain its original shape. With each wash, linen becomes softer and more comfortable.
Detergents and Temperature
Detergents and Temperature
Use only delicate washing products, avoiding strong detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners, which can weaken fibers and reduce absorbency. Wash linen in cool or warm water (30–40°C) to prevent shrinkage, which could reach up to 10% at higher temperatures.
Drying and Tumble Dryers
Drying and Tumble Dryers
For best results, flick and hang your linens while still damp, preferably outdoors for a naturally aerated texture. While tumble drying is possible for stonewashed linen, use a delicate cycle and remove items while slightly damp to prevent shrinkage. Over-drying can make fibers brittle and shorten their lifespan.
Ironing and Care Tips
Ironing and Care Tips
Linen naturally wrinkles, which adds to its charm. We don’t recommend ironing stonewashed linen due to its delicate texture, but if needed, iron on high heat while slightly damp for a smooth, elegant look. Store linen with good air circulation to maintain its durability and avoid pressing it tightly.
